ITC lead Dr Brendan McGrath presented an update on the progress that the 20 UK-wide sites who are participating in the Improving Tracheostomy Care at the Royal College of Anaesthetists’ Winter Symposium.
The theme of ‘excellence’ typifies the work undertaken by sites as they implement the Quality Improvement initiatives from the Global Tracheostomy Collaborative. Progress to date includes a detailed priority list for key interventions and analysis of the first wave of data from a successful year 1. The project aims to capture the difficulties of improving care at the front line of the NHS and will report fully in 2019.
