Courses

New course dates - April 3rd 2012 Manchester..... June 22nd Glasgow......

We have been running courses teaching basic, intermediate and advanced management of tracheostomy emergencies since 2008. We have developed resources for the first responder and also for those who will attend as airway experts. We have organised 'Train the Trainer' days successfully too whch have allowed other Trusts, Regions and Community organisations to develop theor own local training, supported by the resources here. To enquire or book a place on a course, click on 'Our Courses' below.

We have been supported by sponsorship from Cook Medical, Portex (Smiths-Medical), Ambu, Olympus, Kapitex, and AstraZeneca solely for our courses in order to keep costs down. We can sometimes offer free places for local nursing staff.

We have developed a number of courses to teach and support the work described in these pages. The sections below aim to provide a user with enough information to allow an organisation to develop their own local teaching resource, supported by the materials and information on this site.

There are descriptions below covering the various levels of course we have developed aimed at the 'first responder' through to the more advanced. We have provided the presentations that we use on our courses, some of which run as narrated powerpoints. The provide the background and some of the detail about what we have been developing. Feel free to download, adapt and use them. The list is at the bottom of the page.

You will find other printed and multi-media resources in the emergency guidance section of this site.
